DPHC is seeking a dynamic, organized, and efficient Band 5 Practice Nurse to join our Primary Healthcare team at Neptune Medical Centre.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team, leading the delivery of primary healthcare nursing, including elements of occupational health.
You should be able to work independently, providing high-quality nursing care to the medical facility population at risk, managing an individual caseload, and assessing and managing patients with complex health needs, minor injuries, minor illnesses, and specific diseases within your level of competence.
Neptune Medical Centre is scheduled to become part of the West of Scotland Combined Practice with Kentigern House Medical Centre to provide mutual support. Occasionally, you may be requested to work at Kentigern House Medical Centre, with travel time and costs reimbursed.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Providing high-quality, person-centered primary care that considers safety, privacy, and dignity, utilizing evidence-based clinical knowledge and healthcare guidelines.
2. Delivering appropriate treatment, screening, and advice within your professional competence and in accordance with DPHC clinical guidelines and protocols.
3. Providing safe, evidence-based, efficient, and individualized patient care.
4. Undertaking preventative health programs such as travel clinics, vaccination clinics, new patient screening, and audiometry.
5. Performing technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients with complex or specialized healthcare needs (e.g., wound care, sutures removal, ECGs, cytology, audiometry, ear care).
6. Offering specialist advice and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals following assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
