About the team and the role
Ocado’s marketing strategy is data-driven and customer-centric, focusing on deep insights to inspire and satisfy our customers. Our team manages campaigns across TV, Digital, Social, PR, and Email, emphasizing simplicity, targeting, and personalization to communicate effectively with each customer.
Each team member has distinct responsibilities and autonomy, involving project scoping, campaign planning, creative briefing, KPI measurement, and performance analysis. Our work is fast-paced, constantly evolving, and driven by customer understanding and data.
Purpose of the Trade Marketing Executive role
We seek a Customer Trade Marketing Executive to support our Customer Marketing Plan by collaborating across teams to execute seasonal and promotional campaigns that meet our commercial objectives with a focus on customer empathy and profitability.
What you’ll do
1. Lead campaigns from start to finish. Manage smaller campaigns, coordinating with various teams to meet deadlines.
2. Develop a deep understanding of Ocado’s customer segments. Work with Insights and Trade Marketing teams to incorporate customer insights into strategic briefs.
3. Write strategic customer briefs. Develop briefs for seasonal campaigns, using data to inform strategies and collaborating with creative teams for campaign development across multiple channels.
4. Measure campaign effectiveness. Conduct post-campaign analysis and provide insights and recommendations for future improvements.
5. Support the customer calendar development. Assist in planning future campaigns and managing last-minute reactive campaigns.
6. Support on M&S relationship. Coordinate and contribute to M&S-related campaigns.
7. Build cross-departmental relationships. Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, Buying, Insights, Sales, and other channels to deliver integrated campaigns.
8. Stay ahead of marketing trends. Keep updated on latest trends, technologies, and best practices, especially within online grocery and e-commerce.
Who you are
* Customer-focused, ensuring promotions engage and attract customers.
* In-house strategic trade marketing experience at a leading retailer or e-commerce platform is advantageous.
* Commercial awareness of how seasonal/promotional events impact results.
* Effective at collaborating with multiple stakeholders across departments.
* Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Solution-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn and grow.
* Confident in stakeholder collaboration across departments.
