Adecco Public Sector is currently working with a public sector authority who is looking for some interim capacity to help deliver on a government funded programme to establish targeted interventions designed to remove barriers to employment for those people with complex health needs or disabilities.
They are now looking for a Programme Support Officer/Project Manager to work with the strategic lead to support the set up of the programme.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and engaging with key stakeholders, managing governance of key activity and supporting procurement and contract management.
Experience required:
Experience with operational delivery of programmes in a Local Authority or central government environment where the majority of delivery is provided by external partners
Understanding of commissioning and contract management - this is about project managing externally commissioned support
Ability to work with partners to achieve outcomes, including overcoming challenges / issues
The focus would be:
Supporting the development of Programme Delivery Plan
Working internally across legal, procurement, finance and comms, and with external stakeholders
Supporting the development of Board and Committee papers
Supporting the launch of a procurement process for an MI system and for delivery providers
Experience of working in a local / combined authority context to mobilise government-funded delivery programmes is the key requirement - drafting delivery and project plans, working with internal stakeholders, understanding governance requirements etc. Any experience of employment services and/or health services would be beneficial.
Must be available for an immediate start.
Contract until Mid September to meet some key deadlines.
Travel to Midlands location required 1 day per week.
