Clinical Support Worker - Campion/Nicol Ward

Overview
Band 2, permanent, full-time. Salary: £24,465 per year pro rata. Working pattern: full-time with the ability to work different shift patterns (Days, Twilights, Nights, Weekends).
Responsibilities
* Support and assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of quality patient care and the general well-being and comfort of patients.
* Provide high quality, caring and compassionate personal care under the direction of registered professionals.
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the smooth running of a busy department.
* Assist with preparation of patients for treatment, investigations or procedures, keep the clinical area clean and safe, and adhere to infection control procedures.
* Chaperone or escort patients as needed and support relatives with compassion and empathy.
* Assist with discharge processes and maintain accurate documentation, countersigned by a registered professional.
* Report incidents, accidents and changes in patient condition as per Trust policy.
* Participate in audits and contribute to the maintenance of equipment and stock.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: GCSEs at A-C in English and Maths or equivalent.
* Essential: Experience working as part of a team.
* Desirable: Experience in delivering care in healthcare or people-centred environments.
Skills and Personal Qualities
* Ability to work to an agreed level of competency; good written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
* Competent IT skills; ability to present information clearly in writing and orally.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload; reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Compassionate, caring, empathetic and reliable.
* Able to work flexibly over a 24-hour period and in emotionally demanding environments; passes pre-employment checks.
Education, Training and Development
* Attend mandatory training (infection control, resuscitation, manual handling).
* Complete the Trust Clinical Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant Induction and participate in appraisal processes.
* Engage in ongoing development and stay up to date with policy changes relevant to the post.
