Hours: Full Time Monday–Friday (term time)
Salary: £92.65 - £100.10 per day (depending on experience)
A supportive and forward‑thinking primary school in Bath (BA2) is seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team starting after the Easter break.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong classroom experience who is ready to take on enhanced responsibilities, delivering targeted interventions, and supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school is looking for someone committed, proactive and passionate about ensuring all children can access learning successfully.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs
* Assist with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing and engagement strategies
* Support teachers with planning, assessment and classroom preparation
* Adapt resources and activities to suit diverse learning needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to boost confidence and independence
* Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals
* Contribute to tracking progress and completing pupil observations
We are seeking individuals who have:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a school setting
* Strong and proven experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
* Confidence delivering learning activities and leading groups or whole classes
* Excellent communication, behaviour‑management and organisational skills
* A calm, patient and nurturing approach
* A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
