Job summary To assist the Estates Officer (Operations) and be responsible for assisting in the provision of a high quality, efficient, responsive, flexible & effective estates service to Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, working as part of the Estates Department Team. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day mechanical and plumbing maintenance of the Hospital buildings. You will along side a team of mechanical, electrical, and building trades person and will be responsible to supporting and instructing a mechanical team to deal with reactive and planned works on the Estate. Main duties of the job To provide Instruction and guidance to Junior Estates Trade team members Support the Operations management team in sharing site knowledge to contractors working on site as required. To conduct inspections, tests, repairs, installations, as directed on Trust property, plant and infrastructure. To undertake work as identified on allocated works dockets, completing the works and updating the Trust CAFM system in a timely manner. Organise and coordinate own workload and assigned work to trade staff as required with the support of the Operations Management team as needed. To report faults identified either when conducting routine checks/Planned preventative Maintenance or in the course of the normal working day. To identify parts and or equipment required to conduct designated work and use Estates Stores system to obtain required items inline with department procedures. To investigate technical failures as directed and identify the appropriate permanent repair required, with the support of the technical engineer's team as needed, to ensure on-going reliability and statutory compliance. Be a mentor to other members of the team and lead by example to help us create an outstanding Estates team. Requirement to participate in Estates on-call rota. Person Specification Essential Essential Candidates with recognised EITB, City & Guilds, Modern Apprenticeship, or NVQ Level 4 qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Plumbing or those with strong equivalent hands on experience are encouraged to apply. Strong, practical expertise across estates technical disciplines particularly Mechanical Systems and Plumbing, but additional knowledge and understanding on other estates areas, such as, but not exclusive to Building Management Systems, health care water safety, electrical systems, or wider building services maybe a benefit.
