Role Overview
An exciting opportunity in the South Manchester Adult Mental Community Teams for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work in a multidisciplinary team that is developing innovative ways of delivering interventions to a disadvantaged client group. This role provides specialist OT assessment and intervention to people experiencing mental health difficulties, many of whom may also have comorbid physical health, dual diagnosis or cognitive difficulties and require tailored, person‑centred interventions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the OT role across both South teams and work collaboratively with team members, wider community services, health, Social Care and the voluntary sector.
* Provide specialist OT assessment and intervention to people with mental health difficulties.
* Develop the OT role within the team, provide consultation and training, lead appropriate service development projects and supervise junior team members.
Key Qualifications
* HCPC registered OT with a diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Evidence of continuing professional development through relevant post‑graduate or specialist training courses.
* Substantial post‑qualification clinical experience working with older adults in a range of settings, including home and community.
* Experience of supervision and clinical leadership.
* Training in psychological ways of working such as CBT or mindfulness‑based approaches.
* Flexible, motivated and reliable with excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, embracing new ways of working and respecting people’s right to privacy and dignity.
