About the role
The Audit, Governance & Standards Committee of the Royal Borough of Kingston currently has two vacancies for an Independent Member who either lives within the Borough or has a close connection to it.
We are looking for someone with the necessary skills, enthusiasm and commitment to be a member of the Committee and to bring an external perspective to its work.
The purpose of the Committee is to provide independent assurance of the effectiveness of:
* The governance arrangements of the Authority, including standards of conduct
* The Authority's risk management framework
* The Authority's financial management processes and internal control and audit systems
The Committee normally meets four times a year at 7.30pm in the Guildhall, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1EU.
About You
Applicants will have experience either within a financial, accounting or audit background, or of wider corporate governance issues more generally.
