Performance: Support the development and delivery of the Planning Service through monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on projects, budgets, and performance. Provide administrative support to ensure projects progress effectively. Data: Act as an IT superuser across Planning systems, managing data and supporting the extraction and analysis of information to inform decision‑making.
What will you be doing?
* Assisting senior colleagues and managers in the planning service
* Ensuring high levels of customer service
* Supporting initiatives and all aspects of process improvement and system review
* Providing regular management, monitoring and evaluation of projects, budgets, action plans, and programmes
* Compiling statistics to populate returns for local and national performance indicators
* Producing statements
* Monitoring and reporting on customer response and complaints

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Critical understanding of theories and concepts
* Conceptual understanding to devise and sustain arguments, solve problems considering uncertainty, ambiguity, and limits of knowledge
* Ability to manage learning and deploy accurate analysis and enquiry techniques
* Skill in communicating information, ideas, problems, and solutions to specialist and non‑specialist audiences
* Initiative, personal responsibility, and decision‑making in complex contexts
* Basic understanding of the English Planning System
* Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
* Project Management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Excellent customer service and ability to work under pressure
* Willingness and ability to travel independently across the council area and elsewhere; driving licence and own transport
