Salary: Up to £40,000 (up to £20 per hour, £30 per hour overtime rate) + benefits
We operate 24/7 and require flexible working hours, generally between 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading drain clearance and maintenance service providers, operating through over 60 franchisees nationwide. We have a reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction, trusted by major companies and high street brands for drain maintenance.
Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, we also have Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions, providing a comprehensive water and waste management service.
Due to expansion, we are seeking a Drainage Engineer with HGV experience in Norwich, covering Norfolk and part of Suffolk. Our company operates a 24/7 emergency service from South Norfolk.
Role Overview
Your communication skills will ensure customers leave satisfied and willing to recommend our services. You must have industry experience, understanding health & safety requirements, customer expectations, and maintaining detailed documentation.
The role offers £40k+ salary, including some 'out-of-hours' on-call work. You will operate a Bucher (JHL) Recycler CR140 Combi 3200 CL Tanker unit, performing services related to drain cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance, delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. Tasks include:
* Performing cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of drains
* Operating high-pressure water jetting equipment safely
* Conducting surveys
* Providing excellent customer service and technical support
* Recording work details accurately via internal and client systems
* Communicating effectively with clients and support teams
* Participating in an on-call rota for 24/7 service
Candidate Requirements
* HGV Class 2 License
* High-pressure water jetting qualifications or equivalent experience
* Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge
* Positive, flexible attitude
* Desire to grow with a progressive business
* Willingness to work unsociable hours
* Full UK driving license
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
