About the SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Astro Education is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Trentham on a long-term basis.
This role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with diagnosed Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is looking for a calm, resilient and compassionate individual who can build a strong, trusting relationship and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

About The SEN Teaching Assistant Role

Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs
*
Support the pupil’s emotional regulation and engagement in learning
*
Implement behaviour strategies and follow individual support plans
*
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
*
Help create a safe, structured and positive learning environment
*
Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff
Requirements
*
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
*
A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
*
Strong behaviour management skills
*
Ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
*
Experience in education, care, youth work, or similar settings is desirable
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*
Eligibility to work in the UK
