Commercial Manager

Location: Gateshead Team Valley, UK

Reports to: Commercial Director

Direct Reports: None

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Commercial Manager to join our Sales team. This key role will focus on growing profitable sales across a portfolio of UK-based customers, including both domestically produced and imported products from other Group factories. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Category, NPD, Technical, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to develop and deliver commercial strategies that meet sales and profit targets.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and develop key retail accounts.
* Lead and execute strategic sales projects.
* Proactively identify and propose growth opportunities.
* Own customer relationships and deliver joint business plans.
* Maintain and grow sustainable customer partnerships.
* Assess risks, meet deadlines, and manage unexpected challenges.
* Develop customer contact plans and cross-functional KPIs.
* Achieve and exceed account sales and profit targets.
* Deliver accurate forecasting and customer service levels.
* Develop and execute growth plans for each account.
* Meet SMART objectives including NSV, tonnage, EBITDA, and aged debt management.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in account management with major UK retailers.
* Strong commercial awareness and business planning skills.
* Solid understanding of NPD and category management principles.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* IT literate with strong spreadsheet and word processing skills.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and thrive under pressure.
* Team-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
