Responsibilities
As Charity Director, you will:
* Provide strategic and operational leadership to grow income streams to £2 million per annum, maximizing impact while maintaining low operating costs.
* Oversee governance, financial management, grants, lotteries, major donor stewardship, marketing, and creative projects.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, report to the Charitable Funds Committee and Trust Board, and embed measurable social value.
* Undertake hands‑on tasks such as financial management, data analysis, market research, process improvement, and reporting.
* Lead a small, high‑performing team, support staff in their day‑to‑day work, and maintain a culture of collaboration and accountability.
* Engage directly with patients, staff, donors, and community partners, overseeing marketing, communications, creative projects, and wellbeing initiatives to align all activities with the charity’s purpose.
Qualifications & Expectations
We are looking for a leader with:
* Proven fundraising expertise and experience in NHS or similar charitable environments.
* Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to translate strategy into practical initiatives.
* Operational experience including event planning, risk management, and daily operational oversight.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team‑leadership skills.
* Willingness and flexibility to travel between sites and work in office settings as required.
