Overview
Care Assistant for a young boy P/T @ £13.74/hr in Stocksfield.
Responsibilities
* To provide support for a 10-year-old male child who has Autism and ADHD which impact on his learning, communication and behaviour.
* We are currently seeking to recruit a Support Worker to support this child in accessing age-appropriate leisure activities within the local community.
* The role would suit a Support Worker with experience working with children and young people with Autism and associated complex behaviours.
* The ideal candidate will be patient, sensitive, and committed to building a positive and trusting relationship with him, with the aim of achieving positive behavioural outcomes.
* His interests include swimming, trampolining, and metal detecting.
Hours
The hours are 6 hours per week during all school holiday weeks (13 weeks); however, you may on occasion be asked to work fewer one week to enable slightly more the following week to enable specific activities. Hours will be fully discussed and explained at interview.
Rate of pay
£13.74 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.
Person Specification
* Successful applicant must: Be able to Swim; have experience of working with children and young people who have complex needs; be able to respond positively and sensitively to any changes in behaviour; have a high degree of initiative; have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting children and young people within their communities; be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised; be flexible; have a happy, positive and caring nature; respect confidentiality.
* Car driver is essential and must have business insurance. AN ENHANCED DBS CHECK IS REQUIRED – COST TO BE MET BY EMPLOYER.
