 
        
        Process Improvement Engineer
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 | Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are seeking an ambitious, experienced Process Engineer to champion continuous improvement (CI) at our Wolverhampton site. Reporting to Senior Management, you will be the key driver for enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety by leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
This hands-on role is critical for optimizing operations, reducing cycle times, and establishing world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities & Impact
 * Process Optimization: Develop, document, and maintain all manufacturing methods. Utilise Lean tools (e.g., SMED) to significantly reduce set-up times and establish detailed Assembly Work Instructions.
 * Plant Efficiency: Own the development and optimisation of the plant floor layout. Conduct time studies and Industrial Engineering analysis to quantify labour and set headcount standards.
 * Quality & Problem Solving: Collaborate on Quality Control Plans. Lead A3 investigations and 3C Root Cause analysis to permanently solve process issues and safeguard against potential defects.
 * Project & Coordination: Manage strategic improvement projects, coordinate tooling with the Toolroom, and act as the site’s ergonomic resource.
What You Must Bring
 * Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred experience in high-volume assembly environments and new product introduction (NPI) process improvements.
 * Certification: An Engineering qualification is highly preferred. Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferable.
 * Technical Skills: Proven problem-solving capabilities, experience with error-proofing and fixture design, and proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks preferred).
 * Mindset: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and lead cross-functional CI activities.
