Overview
The post holder will carry out a range of clinical skills in midwifery practice within the team, whilst working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to give individualised, holistic care to meet the needs of women and their families. The midwife will have decision-making autonomy within guidelines and professional codes of practice, and will participate in the leadership, education, development and supervision of the clinical team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and visionary 3rd year student Midwives, newly qualified and experienced midwives to join the established team of midwives at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be employed as a rotational midwife and work throughout all clinical areas of maternity services, with rotations through inpatient areas including labour ward, maternity theatres, induction of labour and maternity triage, midwifery led unit and maternity inpatient ward. There will also be an opportunity to rotate to the Maternity Outpatients Department and Community Midwifery team.
The post holder must be flexible, innovative and resourceful with excellent organisational skills, a team player with high personal standards of care. All Midwives newly joining Mid Cheshire will be supported with supernumerary time in each clinical area and Newly qualified midwives will be supported through a 12 month preceptorship programme with dedicated study/training time each month.

Responsibilities
* Provide high quality, effective midwifery care on a day-to-day basis, working within all areas of the maternity unit.
* Deliver care to women in antenatal care, during labour and postnatally.
* Collaborate with the maternity team to meet individual needs and ensure holistic care.
* Participate in leadership, education, development and supervision of the clinical team.
* Work within guidelines and professional codes of practice with decision-making autonomy.
* Rotate through maternity services including labour ward, theatres, induction of labour, triage, midwifery led unit and inpatient ward; opportunity to rotate to Outpatients and Community Midwifery as applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in all aspects of midwifery care and ability to work with women across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
* Flexible, innovative and resourceful with excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and maintain high personal standards of care.
