Estimator – PlymouthPermanent | Competitive Salary + PackageA highly respected construction contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its thriving commercial team. With a strong footprint across the region, this company has been delivering exceptional construction projects for decades. Their portfolio spans education, commercial, healthcare and public sector. The Role:As Estimator, you will play a key part in the pre-construction team, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the wider commercial team to secure and deliver competitively priced, accurately scoped tenders. Responsibilities include:
* Reviewing tender opportunities with the commercial team
* Attending site visits during tender stage
* Preparing and sending enquiries to the supply chain
* Raising RFIs and ensuring timely responses
* Assessing tender documentation for accuracy and completeness
* Evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Preparing comprehensive cost submissions
* Identifying and managing project risk at bid stage
* Providing clear and accurate handover documentation to delivery teams
* Monitoring cost alignment during project mobilisation
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous estimating experience in a construction environment (main contracting)
* Familiarity with two-stage tendering processes
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* IT-literate with experience of estimating software and CRM systems, Excel and ConQuest
* Able to work both independently and collaboratively
* Full driving licence essential; DBS clearance may be required
