Overview
We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Band 6 Generalist Adult Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT).
As a Generalist SLT, you will provide compassionate clinical care alongside adults living with communication and/or swallowing differences across all our pathways which include stroke, non‑stroke, community, voice and head/neck cancer. You will have existing eating, drinking and swallowing competencies at Foundation Level (RCSLT 2025)/Level C (2014).
Our service is currently reviewing its models of service delivery, integrating telehealth/clinic approaches and streamlining pathways to ensure safe and sustainable care across Morecambe Bay. You will be embedded within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System and may be involved in regional service and workforce initiatives.
UHMBT operates from three main hospital sites in Lancaster, Barrow‑in‑Furness and Kendal. The geographical area covers North Lancashire to South Cumbria, so the ability to travel independently between sites is essential. The work base location will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. There is an expectation to progress to 6‑day working for the stroke pathway once fully established.
