Finance Business Partner – Energy Markets (12-Month FTC)

We're thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner specialising in Energy Markets to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role can be based in Nottingham or Solihull, with hybrid working available.
About the Role
In this pivotal position, you'll provide strategic financial insight and business partnering to senior stakeholders, supporting understanding of key performance drivers and helping shape decision-making across the business.
You'll take ownership of financial reporting, planning, and analysis for the Utility Warehouse managed contract and contribute to wider energy market initiatives and transformation programmes.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, applying your financial expertise to support business growth, transformation, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of P&L and Balance Sheet for the UW managed contract
Posting accruals and prepayments into SAP
Supporting gross margin forecasting and high-level in-year forecasts for the UW contract
Collaborating with colleagues to produce monthly UW invoices, including preparation and approval processes
Producing insightful management information to track performance versus plan and communicating outcomes to key stakeholders
Identifying and communicating risks and opportunities relating to the UW contract and wider energy markets business
Supporting business planning across Energy Markets
Delivering high-quality business partnering to the Energy Markets Leadership Team (EMLT)
Supporting interactions with E.ON external auditors and leading on key audit topics
What We Need From You
You'll bring strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to influence and challenge decisions. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing clarity and insight through financial expertise.
Ideally, you'll have:
Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA), or working towards qualification
Excellent Excel skills and the ability to present complex financial information clearly
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
An adaptable mindset and eagerness to grow with the business
A desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
