About the service
At Sense Scotland we make every day matter and we’re hiring Support Practitioners to join our dynamic Housing Support Service teams in Hamilton, Motherwell and Airdrie. You’ll be part of a vibrant, person-centred environment where compassion, creativity, and fun drive everything we do.
As a Support Practitioner you will support individuals with complex needs to live independent, fulfilling lives and help turn everyday moments into something extraordinary. We believe life is for living, and the individuals we support have diverse interests, including sensory activities, music sessions, swimming, local walks, long drives, and spending time with family and friends. In your role, you’ll help them participate in these activities, explore new experiences, and build meaningful connections.
This is a driver essential role therefore you will hold a valid UK driving licence for a manual or automatic vehicle and be able to drive a work car. You’ll offer 1:1 or 2:1 support throughout the day, assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and supporting them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations, both at home and in the community.
What you’ll be doing
 * Provide personal care, medication support, meal prep, and companionship.
 * Plan and enjoy activities like music, cinema, swimming, holidays, and more.
 * Collaborate with families and professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
 * Promote independence and individuality through tailored support plans.
 * Keep accurate records and contribute to a supportive team culture
Shift patterns
Our housing support services run 24/7, so flexibility is key. You’ll work a variety of shifts, all scheduled via a supportive staff rota system. Typical shifts include; early and late shifts, sleepovers and wakened nights, weekends and public holidays.
