Offer description

YOUR NEW COMPANY

You’ll be joining a specialist ICT and telecoms infrastructure consultancy that designs the structured cabling and security backbone behind data centres, offices and production sites for global enterprise clients. The business is firmly in growth mode, winning more international projects and expanding its security design capability to keep pace with demand from blue-chip customers.

You’ll work fully remotely from Europe, with occasional travel to client sites or team meet-ups where it genuinely adds value, not for the sake of it. Because the firm sits at the intersection of physical and electronic security, this is a strong moment to join and help shape how they deliver best-practice security design across complex, business-critical environments.

YOUR NEW ROLE

You’ll join a security design team led by an Associate Director, working alongside experienced ICT and security engineers on large, multi-site projects for commercial and data centre clients. Your role involves owning chunks of project delivery: translating client requirements into robust security concepts, producing coordinated designs, and making sure what’s built on site matches what you’ve engineered on paper.

You’ll lead the technical development of security infrastructure packages from early risk and strategy advice through to detailed designs for physical and electronic security systems and you’ll be a regular voice in client and contractor meetings.

You’ll survey existing installations, support testing and commissioning, and be the person colleagues turn to when they need a clear technical view on standards, calculations or product choices.

The culture is one where you’re trusted to get on with the work, supported when you need it, and encouraged to share knowledge with more junior engineers. As you grow, you’ll take on more client leadership and design ownership, positioning you for progression into principal or associate level roles.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

You’ll bring at least three years’ experience in security infrastructure design for commercial environments, ideally with some exposure to data centres or other mission-critical sites. You understand how physical and electronic security systems come together in real buildings, and you’re comfortable turning a client brief into coordinated drawings, specifications and calculation packs that stand up to scrutiny. You use industry standards, BS-EN requirements and health and safety legislation as everyday tools, not buzzwords, because your designs need to be both robust and compliant.

You’ll be confident with IT-based calculation tools, spreadsheets and typical design software, and you either already work with Revit/CAD or are ready to get up to speed quickly. Experience with access control platforms such as Lenel, C-Cure or Prowatch, and any relevant security design certifications, will help you hit the ground running but aren’t essential.

Advantageous but not essential: experience on international projects and familiarity with global client standards. You take ownership of your workload, communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, and you’re the type of person who spots issues early and enjoys solving them properly rather than firefighting later.

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

You’ll be employed on a full-time, permanent basis, working from home with the kit and flexibility you need to do your best work. The core benefits include company pension and private medical insurance, alongside remote-friendly policies that recognise you have a life outside of work. You can expect occasional company events to keep you connected to the wider team, plus day-to-day autonomy to manage your time around project commitments rather than a rigid clock-watching culture.

Because the business is still growing its security design function, there’s real scope to shape how things are done and to move up as the team expands, rather than waiting years for a gap to appear. If you’re looking for a role where your designs genuinely influence how global clients secure their most critical sites, this will feel like time well spent.
