Springbank Ward is an award‑winning service providing inpatient treatment to women with EUPD and complex emotional needs. Service‑users complete a 12‑month programme that combines DBT with therapeutic activity and group work.
As the Activity Co‑ordinator you will work with ward staff and the multidisciplinary team to plan and run a timetable of therapeutic groups and activities that support recovery.

Main duties
* Provide and coordinate meaningful groups and activities on the ward and in the community.
* Deliver 1:1 activities and interventions tailored to each service‑user’s needs, interests and goals.
* Develop group sessions focused on skill building, social inclusion and community integration.
* Collaborate with the ward team and multidisciplinary members.
* Contribute to service‑improvement initiatives and development of the ward programme.
* Maintain relationships and support external activity providers such as volunteers and third‑sector organisations.
* Work evenings and weekends and accompany service‑users out into the community.
Job responsibilities summary
In addition to the main duties, you will:
* Plan and organise therapeutic groups and activities under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
* Maximise the therapeutic potential of groups through skill development and meaningful activities.
* Provide feedback on engagement and presentations within groups to support assessment.
* Monitor and record client progress, reporting to the Occupational Therapist or other professionals.
* Assist, support and encourage patients to engage in meaningful occupations and routines.Build therapeutic relationships with patients, including those who may be difficult to engage or present a risk.
* Work in a way that reflects CPFT PRIDE values and contribute to ward service‑improvement initiatives.
* Support activities outside the core Springbank timetable, including evenings and weekends.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Good level of secondary education to GCSE level (eg, 5 GCSEs A‑C or higher).
* NVQ Level 3 in care, a technical skill or equivalent (eg, 2 A‑Levels A‑C or higher).
* Related health or social care qualification.
Experience
* Experience working with people who have complex needs or a strong interest in doing so.
* Experience planning and organising activities and groups in a care setting.
* Lived experience of mental health challenges.
* Experience adapting groups and activities to individual needs and skill levels.
Skills / Abilities
* Positive attitude toward patient care and therapeutic groups.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence in facilitating groups.
* Interest areas applicable to therapeutic groups and activities.
Physical / Other
* Occasional travel with service users may be required.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year, pro rata.
