Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for Primary ALN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Rhymneyarea. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners at the beginning of their education journey.
About the Role:
As a Primary ALN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers and the school SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide essential support to children with a range of needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting pupils with ALN/SEN in both classroom and 1:1 settings
* Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging, accessible lessons
* Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
* Monitoring and supporting children's emotional and academic progress
* Helping to prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment
* Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external specialists
* Providing personal care and ensuring pupils' safety and wellbeing as needed
We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting children or young people, especially those with ALN/SEN, is a bonus but not essential
* A positive, nurturing, and proactive attitude
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* A genuine interest in education and child development
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not mandatory
