Job Title: Registered Mental Health Nurse Location: Southgate Salary: £34,000 £5000 welcome bonus We are currently seeking motivated, enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the team. You will work in the adult acute unit dependant on service needs catering mainly to adult private patients and also adult OCD patients referred through the NHS. This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to gain experience in a multitude of specialist areas working in Adults Acute, Addictions and specialist OCD fields. This will allow you to expand your knowledge and skillset very quickly giving you an outstanding platform for your career. You will work with a large multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, other registered mental health nurses, healthcare assistants, teaching staff, therapists (including DBT and CBT therapists, a clinical psychologist, a child psychotherapist and an occupational therapist). You will be involved in the assessment, planning and implementation of patient care. About the Unit: The unit consists of 1x 8 bedded ward. We also provide services for adolescents with OCD and private patients. We work with young adults presenting with a wide range of mental health problems, but particular specialities are with self harm. Many of our young people have experienced earlier abuse and neglect and have attachment difficulties and emotional dysregulation. We use a variety of different therapeutic approaches and in particular use Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) which is an evidence based approach for use with self harm. We would expect you to be able to use DBT skills when working with the young people and we will provide regular training and supervision on-site for this. A newly opened mixed Acute Adult ward with 14 beds. This ward is led by 2 Consultants which provides a unique experience and a learning opportunity for both experienced and newly qualified nurses and Healthcare workers. Most of our patients are sectioned under the Mental Health Act, which on its own provides you with a learning in Tribunals, Managers' hearing and also an opportunity to keep you up to speed with your knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Patients receive their treatment and regularly reviewed in weekly ward rounds to ensure that they do not spend any longer than they need to be in hospital.
