Platinum Search Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Kent, who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding commercial team on a permanent full time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, reputable business delivering a diverse range of projects across the South East, including refurbishment, heritage, and new build schemes. Please note this is a full time office based role.
Due to a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, our client has created a new position within their commercial team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, including Directors and the Contracts Manager, playing a key role in the commercial delivery of multiple projects. Project values typically range from £100k to £2m, with increasing exposure to schemes up to £3m–£4m.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
* Managing the commercial aspects of several live projects simultaneously
* Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports
* Procuring subcontractors and overseeing package management
* Reviewing subcontractor applications and recommending payments
* Producing and maintaining CVRs and cost forecasts
* Managing variations and change control with clients and supply chain
* Assisting with final accounts on both subcontract and main contract side
* Undertaking measurements and take-offs to support project delivery
* Working closely with site teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment
* Building and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment
* Background in refurbishment and/or new build projects (heritage experience advantageous)
* Strong measurement and re-measurement capabilities
* Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes independently
* Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk effectively
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
* Comfortable working within a close-knit team environment
