Job Title CNC Grinding Operator Job Summary The CNC Grinding Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC grinding machines to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor CNC grinding machines (surface, cylindrical or internal grinding, as applicable) Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing components within tolerances Perform machine offsets and basic program edits as needed Select, dress, and change grinding wheels and tooling Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators) Verify parts meet dimensional, surface finish, and quality requirements Document inspection results and production data Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized Required Qualifications Proven experience operating and programming CNC grinding machines Experience using precision measuring tools Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality Knowledge of Super Abrasives advantageous as well as Tungsten Carbide experience Would consider people with a wood turning background within a jobbing shop environment Morgan Advanced Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
