This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 March 2026, covering a secondment with the potential to extend. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scanning and Quality Assurance Clerk to join our team at Basildon Mental Health Unit, part of Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).
This role is crucial in supporting the Trust’s digital transformation by ensuring patient records are accurately scanned, quality checked, and properly indexed. Maintaining high standards in document handling and electronic recordkeeping will enable clinicians and healthcare professionals to access timely and accurate patient information, thereby enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collect, prepare, scan, and upload patient documents following Trust procedures
2. Conduct quality assurance checks on scanned and indexed documents
3. Monitor and process documents through Laserfiche and Quickfields workflows
4. Ensure accurate indexing, metadata assignment, and document classification
5. Respond to user queries and escalate technical issues as needed
6. Provide occasional cross-site support to cover leave or sickness
7. Assist in training new staff in scanning and QA procedures
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident IT user capable of following structured processes
* Flexible and proactive, willing to travel between sites when required
* Previous experience in scanning, records management, or similar administrative roles is desirable
