Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, along with the ability to lead and inspire kitchen staff. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in food production, ensuring high standards of quality and safety while assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations.
Duties
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
* Assist in food preparation and cooking, following recipes and presentation specifications.
* Manage food production processes to maintain quality and consistency across all dishes.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
* Train new kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen operations.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
* Foster a positive team atmosphere, encouraging collaboration and effective communication among staff.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
* Excellent leadership abilities to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.
* Previous experience in food production and service is highly desirable.
