Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation?
We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll work with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to deliver significant legislative reforms. You can make a difference.
You’ll need to be adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, with support for other workstreams as needed.
* Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
* Driving reforms in waste management to change how waste is managed in England, including shaping digital systems for waste management and policy development.
We’re a dispersed team working across the country, utilizing smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You’ll join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads on reforming Waste Regulations to ensure government ambitions of resource conservation and waste minimization are achieved.

Experience and Skills Required
