The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works organization is seeking Signature Assessment and Validation Engineers to join the Signature Integrity Team in St. Louis, Missouri.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to help enable stealth performance of platforms through manufacturing and operation processes. SAV engineers work closely with QA and NDE teams by defining verification requirements, criteria, processes, and tools. They develop signature assessment methods and correlate signature data for manufacturing and sustainment to refine and reduce test requirements. The role involves both hands-on and deskwork, with some travel expected.
We are hiring for a range of experience levels including Lead and Senior Signature Assessment and Validation Engineers.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the SAV team
* Collaborating with the EM QA multi-discipline team
* Developing and validating processes with diagnostic equipment
* Performing developmental testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
* Defining QA test criteria for signature verification
* Reviewing work instructions
* Witnessing part conformance and QA testing
* Tracking signature verification tests and storing data records
* Correlating and assessing verification at the system level
* Providing and reviewing dispositions for non-conformances
* Analyzing non-conformance trends for corrective actions
* Helping develop signature assessment systems, including software and methods
Additional responsibilities may include:
* Interacting positively with personnel across design, fabrication, testing, and suppliers
* Disseminating results and status to stakeholders, possibly representing Boeing to government customers or suppliers
* Creating and editing specifications, procedures, and reports
* Managing multiple projects with strong organization and documentation skills
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
* (Level 4) 9+ years with Bachelor’s, 7+ with Master’s, or 4+ with PhD
* (Level 5) 14+ years with Bachelor’s, 12+ with Master’s, or 9+ with PhD
* 4+ years’ experience in quality, manufacturing, LO engineering, aircraft design, electromagnetic propagation, or low observables
* 2+ years’ experience with LO or electromagnetics
* Positive attitude towards learning, teamwork, and initiative
* Experience with RF/IR test equipment and data processing (highly desired)
* Ability to mentor and provide technical leadership
