Eventus Legal are seeking a Residential Conveyancer, Conveyancing Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) or Licensed Conveyancer to join a well-established and expanding rural law firm. This permanent job offers the opportunity to manage your own varied residential property caseload with autonomy, excellent administrative support and genuine work‑life balance. The role is full‑time with part‑time hours considered for the right candidate. Candidates based in Settle, North Yorkshire or Grassington, North Yorkshire will receive a salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, limited hybrid and remote working flexibility, 36 days annual leave (including bank holidays), an extended Christmas shutdown, workplace pension and a supportive, collaborative working environment. Working hours are 8:45am – 5:00pm with a 45‑minute lunch break.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision
- Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages and other residential property transactions
- Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professional contacts
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently whilst maintaining excellent levels of client service
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the residential property department
- Supporting the firm's reputation for approachable, personal and professional legal advice
- For those with relevant experience, there may be the opportunity to undertake a mixed caseload incorporating Private Client matters including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration
Person Specification
Applications are sought from qualified Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives (CILEX) and Licensed Conveyancers with residential conveyancing experience. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years' PQE (or equivalent experience) and be confident managing your own caseload independently.
- Qualification as a Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEX) or Licensed Conveyancer
- A minimum of approximately 2 years post‑qualification experience, although those with relevant equivalent experience are encouraged to apply
- Proven ability to manage a residential conveyancing caseload without supervision
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing procedures
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A proactive and organised approach to managing files and deadlines
- A commitment to delivering exceptional client service
- An interest in developing long‑term client and professional relationships within a close‑knit community environment
- Previous Private Client experience would be welcomed, although this is not essential
