Scope of Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the commercial team in delivering a range of civil engineering and utility projects. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior staff, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure across both pre‑ and post‑contract activities — building your knowledge and progressing towards managing your own projects.
How You’ll Succeed
* Assist with the administration of subcontractor accounts, including applications and payments
* Support the preparation of applications for payment and valuations
* Help track variations and change control
* Contribute to cost reporting and CVRs
* Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
* Assist with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
* Support tendering and pricing activities
* Work closely with project teams to understand project delivery and commercial performance
What It Takes
* Experience in a commercial or construction environment (placement, internship, or AQS role)
* Degree or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred)
* Basic understanding of NEC or JCT contracts (desirable, not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
