Job Description
A Senior Electrical Engineer grade responsible for delivering projects that meet client expectations and technical standards.
Responsibilities
* Deliver projects for your discipline in line with client expectations.
* Work in a joint leadership capacity within the MEP discipline team, providing design and technical advice as a project manager.
* Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete work in line with technical and commercial performance and delivery schedules.
* Work independently with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of the discipline.
* Interpret client needs and project requirements to meet overall delivery goals.
* Promote WSP’s capabilities and expertise in the region.
* Supervise completion of detailed designs and oversee work of others in this function.
* Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study.
* Direct production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, with review by colleagues before issue.
* Develop and line‑manage junior staff.

* Cable calculations using ElectricalOM or Amtech or by hand
* Lighting calculations (software and by hand)

Qualifications
* BEng/BSc/MEng in an applicable engineering discipline.
* Chartership or working towards chartership with CIBSE, IET, or Engineering Council.
* Proven track record of delivering a variety of projects within the Building Services sector.
* Ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, coordination and debates.
* Skilled at sketching and communicating technical detail graphically to construction professionals and client teams.
* Detailed understanding of regulations applicable to the discipline, demonstrated through calculations.
* Working knowledge of latest electrical design software packages to allocate and direct work on projects.
* Proficient with Revit MEP or other 3‑D design software to allocate and direct work on projects.
* Must obtain a UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
