Position Summary
NHS Nottinghamshire is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to join our Community Nursing teams. The service operates from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week, with additional shift support from an evening and night nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide skilled nursing care to patients in home and clinic settings.
* Assess, plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe and effective treatment plans in collaboration with patients, carers and multidisciplinary team.
* Deliver evidence‑based interventions, including wound care, palliative care, continence care and management of long‑term conditions.
* Safely monitor, manage and administer medication.
* Work autonomously building leadership skills and advanced clinical assessment.
* Build effective relationships with patients, carers, families and colleagues across the MDT.
* Develop exceptional planning and organisational skills, and analyse care and treatment to enable sound clinical decision‑making.
* Provide high‑quality care and develop knowledge in palliative care, leg ulcer management, acute & chronic wound care, bladder and bowel dysfunctions, and supportive care to carers and family members.
* Delegate and support junior staff, building leadership skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered adult nurse with experience in community nursing (or willingness to train).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable, reliable, resourceful and approachable.
* Full UK driving licence and vehicle available for business use (reasonable adjustments available for disabled individuals).
Additional Information
* Applicants will pay for their DBS check; the standard fee (£26.40) or enhanced fee (£54.40) will be deducted from salary over the first two months of employment.
* Applicants are encouraged to register for the DBS Update Service (annual fee £16).
* This role does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled Worker visa.
