Lead planning and execution for initiatives such as ship management, training academies, and future business opportunities. Drive commercial decision‑making with a founder‑like mindset. Market & Commercial Insight Analyse global shipping and tanker markets, freight trends, and macro drivers. Identify short‑ and long‑term commercial opportunities across multiple business lines. Translate market intelligence into actionable strategic recommendations. Commercial Performance Support optimisation of fleet earnings and commercial outcomes. Evaluate commercial options, risk exposure, and value‑creation opportunities. Work with chartering and analytics teams to maximise commercial returns. Client & Partner Engagement Build and maintain relationships with charterers, brokers, traders, and strategic partners. Represent the company in commercial discussions, negotiations, and industry events. Drive high‑quality communication with clients and stakeholders. Cross‑Functional Leadership Collaborate with technical, operations, finance, and analytics teams to align on commercial priorities. Contribute to the development of commercial tools, dashboards, and performance metrics. Support senior management with reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Contracting & Negotiation Assist in negotiating COAs, spot fixtures, and time‑charter agreements. Ensure commercial terms align with risk appetite and strategic objectives. Maintain accurate documentation and CRM records. Requirements — Commercial & Strategic Expertise Proven experience in commercial roles within shipping, commodities, trading, finance, or corporate development. Strong understanding of shipping markets (tankers preferred), freight dynamics, and commercial drivers. Demonstrated ability to build businesses, not just manage existing ones. Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills; comfortable with financial models and market data. Strong negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities. Highly organised, structured, and able to manage a broad and evolving brief. Professional presence, polished communication, and strong stakeholder management. Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage. Familiarity with commercial tools (Veson IMOS, Signal, Kpler, Vortexa) or willingness to learn. Willingness to travel internationally.
