We are seeking a dynamic Training and Development Officer to join our busy and supportive Assessment and Planning Team within Children’s Services on a secondment basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a confident, skilled workforce that delivers high‑quality services for children and young people with SEND across East Sussex.
In this varied and rewarding position, you will lead on the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality training interventions that support organisational priorities and enhance professional practice. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to ensure staff are well‑equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver excellent services, while also supporting induction and ongoing development across the Assessment and Planning service.
What we are looking for
* Knowledge and experience in SEND, education, or wider children’s services is essential.
* Has experience (or a strong interest) in training design and delivery.
* Is proactive, highly organised, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
* Has strong communication skills and confidence delivering to a wide range of audiences.
* Has strong digital/ICT skills and an interest in developing online learning and can apply creative and innovative thinking in designing and delivering learning solutions.
* Demonstrates a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
