The Role
:
The role of a workshop and service engineer is incredibly varied and includes:
Roughly 70-75% of the role is Workshop based - regular days with an early finish every Friday
1. Supporting the customer with product trails
2. Machinery modifications and test (electrical and mechanical)
3. Planning service visits
4. Technical support to customers
25-30% of the role will be Field Based:
5. Visiting customer sites all over the world
6. Machinery installations and commissioning
7. Breakdown support
8. Planned maintenance
Electrically the workshop and service engineer will be working on single and 3 phase systems, inverters, drives, relays, safety circuits and PLC’s
Mechanically the work includes conveyors, bearings, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics.
Required Experience:
9. The workshop and service engineer must be flexible to travel and work away from home
10. The work both electrical and mechanical so you must have a multi-skilled engineering background
11. You will be a qualified engineer to NVQ 3 as a minimum in either electrical or mechanical engineering
12. Manufacturing experience is desirable, but ex Forces engineers would also be a great fit for this role
