Reeson Education are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the SK8 area. This is a full-time, long-term position working closely with a pupil in a lower Key Stage 2 class. The school are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant who can provide stability, consistency, and the right balance of nurture and structure.
About the role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in a lower KS2 class.
* Provide support for a child with ASD and SEMH needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
* Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
* Use strategies to promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and resilience.
* Deliver targeted interventions where required.
* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil to support their academic and social development.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEND/SEMH knowledge.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with children who require extra support.
* A calm, consistent approach to behaviour management.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility and commitment to a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role.
