A well-established criminal defence firm is seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its growing team based in Dewsbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to further develop their criminal defence career while working closely alongside an experienced Senior Associate within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
You will assist with and manage a varied criminal defence caseload, providing high-quality legal representation and advice across a range of criminal matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and assisting with a broad criminal defence caseload
* Representing clients at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts
* Preparing legal documentation and case files
* Advising clients throughout criminal proceedings
* Liaising with courts, counsel, clients, and third parties
* Supporting senior team members on more complex matters
* Delivering excellent client care in sensitive and high-pressure situations
* Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid and regulatory requirements
Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor with experience in criminal defence work
* Duty Solicitor accreditation preferred but not essential
* Strong communication and advocacy skills
* Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure
* Excellent organisational and client-care skills
* Team-oriented with a proactive and professional approach
* Interest in developing within criminal defence litigation
