This SEN Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs across Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Highams Park, and Woodford.
The Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, youll work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech and Language difficulties. This SEN Teaching Assistant position involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What Were Looking For
Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech and Language needs
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness )
Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
