Salary: £39,939 to £42,699 per annum (pro-rata for part time)

Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week

About the Role

There are 2 Part time posts available (18.5 hours per week). The post holders will support the high-quality delivery of the Blue Badge and Concessionary Travel assessment service, and will be responsible for processing Blue Badge appeals. The role will involve reviewing written information from a range of sources, as well as carrying out telephone or face-to-face mobility assessments with Blue Badge applicants if required, and then be able to make informed decisions against eligibility criteria. The post holders will also lead on resolving queries, disputes and complaints relating to eligibility for Blue Badges and Concessionary Travel Passes, as well as completing statutory performance reports for these service areas.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:
* Have a degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification e.g. Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapists, as well as maintaining a registration with the Health Professions Council or equivalent
* Be able to use own initiative to plan and prioritise work, proactively manage a caseload and to set (and work to) clear objectives, plans, targets and deadlines
* Be able to understand and review a range of qualitative medical and non-medical information, that will enable you to formulate and demonstrate clear and accurate decision making in line with eligibility criteria
* Be able to produce, maintain and provide detailed letters, reports and case papers, and be able to confidently present at panels/hearings if required
* Be skilled in written and verbal diplomacy, have excellent inter-personal skills and the confidence to manage conflict and disagreement, and being appropriately assertive
* Be able to work well individually and collaboratively in partnership, as well as work effectively as part of a team
* Hold a full Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle to use on Council business
