Highly Experienced SEN Mainstream Teaching Assistant

A wonderful Primary School in Bromley is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. The applicant needs to have experience of working with high needs children with Autism.

About the Role:

In this Primary School, you'll work with students in EYFS or KS1 who face a SEN and behavioural needs. Your role will be to support their learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation-helping them re-engage with education in a safe and structured environment.

You Will:

·Provide 1:1 and small group support, both in and out of class

·Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

·Help implement behaviour support plans and therapeutic strategies

·Assist with daily routines and transitions to promote consistency and security

·Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams

·Encourage emotional resilience, self-esteem, and positive social skills

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking compassionate and proactive individuals who can remain calm under pressure and are committed to helping students succeed-both academically and emotionally.

You'll Need:

·A genuine passion for working with young people with SEMH needs

·Relevant experience working in Schools, with SEMH or SEN

·Patience, emotional intelligence, and strong behaviour management skills

·The ability to de-escalate situations and offer positive reinforcement

·Experience working with vulnerable young people (formal or informal) is a plus

·A background in supporting children with high SEN needs and behaviour

·Have an enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be happy to purchase one
