Overview
The Corporate Credit Assessment Operations Manager will lead VWFS UK's Corporate Credit Analysts and Corporate Credit Specialists, ensuring robust controls to support compliant Corporate Credit Assessment decision making aligned to ECB regulation and Volkswagen Bank's European Organisational Handbook (E-OHB). The role has an underwriting mandate of £10m and includes a portfolio of corporate credit customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Your £10m mandate will be for approval or decline for VWFS UK Fleet proposals and VW Bank UK wholesale products. You’ll be the gatekeeper for the Corporate Credit Assessment 1st vote process and procedures to ensure the function is audit ready.
* Prepare credit applications and make recommendations for VWFS and VW Bank, including credit limits, supporting securities and lending conditions.
* Support and develop your team to perform at their best, modelling effective leadership to enable a positive and inclusive culture.
* Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure your team meets or exceeds ECB and FCA regulations, and conduct annual reviews for your portfolio within structured schedules.
* Work across the department to implement reporting for Data Processing requirements and the Corporate Risk Committee Review submissions that reflect customers' credit status.
* Take ownership of ensuring all corporate customer data is securely captured and maintained in relevant systems (e.g., Experian, KYC checks, anti-money-laundering checks) and End of Reviews including Limit Switches and lending conditions.
* Implement efficiencies between VWFS and Corporate Credit Assessment to ensure workflows support sales channels for our Fleet customers.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll be an experienced manager who can engage, motivate, inspire and develop your team through effective coaching and performance management.
You’ll have worked in this capacity or environment previously with advanced financial knowledge so you can interpret and analyse balance sheets and make informed recommendations for lending and required security.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Experience in a regulated organisation to support setting standards of behaviour, culture and performance within your team and the wider function.
* Coaching and mentoring, managing performance and delivering meaningful feedback.
* Analytical skills to understand customer financial performance and to develop reporting to effectively analyse and monitor portfolio performance.
* Strong communication across stakeholders with the integrity to stand by decisions under commercial pressure.
* Excellent organisation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while supporting and developing your team.
* Experience with 1st Vote credit applications or understanding of what this entails.
