The Duke of York's Royal Military School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, supporting their learning, development, and personal growth.
Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our SENCO to support and enhance our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision, helping all students reach their full potential. You will also play a key role in our boarding community as a Tutor, including weeknight duties, 12 weekend duties, and Saturday morning tutor sessions.
Responsibilities
* Support students’ learning, development, and wellbeing, including those with SEN, behavioural, or organisational needs.
* Promote inclusion, independence, and participation, encouraging self-reliance.
* Assist with the delivery of planned activities and help implement differentiated curriculum strategies.
* Collaborate with the SENCO to identify, assess, and monitor SEN interventions.
* Maintain accurate records and review progress to ensure students achieve their potential.
* Work with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic student support.
* Serve as a Boarding Tutor, supporting the welfare, academic progress, and personal development of your tutor group.
* Contribute to boarding life, including weekday duties, weekend supervision, prep monitoring, and house activities.
