Lecturer (Anatomy) – Education Focused
UNSW invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer (Anatomy) with a focus on education. The role is a fixed term contract expiring 31 December 2027, based at Kensington Campus, Sydney. The position offers Level B remuneration ($127,947) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading. Hybrid flexible working is available.
About the Role
The Lecturer in Anatomy (Education Focused) reports to the Head of Anatomy and has no direct reports. The role contributes to undergraduate teaching within Anatomy and collaborates with other disciplines in the School of Biomedical Sciences.
Key Accountabilities
* Contribute to undergraduate teaching within Anatomy and work collaboratively with other disciplines.
* Prepare, deliver and assess lectures, tutorials, practical classes and small group sessions.
* Develop and refine a teaching philosophy that promotes student learning.
* Assess student learning achievements and provide feedback in line with UNSW policy.
* Design and develop learning activities, resources, assessments and feedback using a range of suitable approaches.
* Initiate experimental approaches to teaching and learning with support from senior academics.
* Provide one‑to‑one and cohort support to students to enhance learning and employability outcomes.
* Act as Course Authority, managing course administration and ensuring academic quality assurance.
* Maintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and required accreditation.
* Contribute positively to School meetings, seminars and committee work as required.
Skills and Experience
* A PhD in anatomical sciences or a medical degree with relevant professional expertise.
* Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, course convening and delivery.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and champion equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Commitment to UNSW values, policies and guidelines.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant training.
