We’re recruiting for a Pre-Sales Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. At Legal & General, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Pre-sale Underwriter to join our Retail Protection team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with advisers, underwriters, and business development managers to provide accurate and timely underwriting support.What you'll be doing:
1. Communicating professionally with advisers, internal teams and third parties to ensure customer satisfaction
2. Providing accurate pre-application underwriting terms and guidance
3. Maintaining strong product knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements
4. Supporting sales through effective questioning and lead generation
5. Managing time efficiently to balance business needs and personal development
6. Challenging existing practices to improve service and customer outcomes
7. Recording and sharing market intelligence using Salesforce
8. Upholding Treating Customers Fairly principles throughout the customer journey
QualificationsWho we're looking for:
9. Understanding of insurance products and policy conditions
10. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
11. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following underwriting flows
12. Excellent listening and telephony skills
13. Confidence in financial calculations to support underwriting decisions
14. Experience in pre-sale underwriting or similar customer-facing roles
15. Ability to work under pressure and meet service level agreements
16. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to improvement
