We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and passionate Assistant Cook to join our enthusiastic team of professionals. This post is on a permanent contract. In this role you will be required to supervise all staff in the catering operation within the Academy, complete administrative requirements, purchase stock and prepare healthy meals for pupils. All staff will be kept up to date with annual food safety training, food hygiene, allergen awareness and any changes to food legislation.
Responsibilities
* Supervise relevant personnel in school and welfare catering operations.
* Complete administration, purchasing, stock control, staff rotas and financial processes under the guidance of the Cook in Charge.
* Prepare and produce food and beverage in line with pupil requirements and legislation.
* Pro‑actively work in partnership to promote healthy eating and sales.
* Ensure correct procedures are completed in relation to all kitchen tasks.
* Assist in the preparation, serving and presentation of all food and beverages as directed by the Cook in Charge and Catering Services Manager while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
* Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or equivalent.
* Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
