At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic componentsand wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. The successful Welder will be expected to work with a variety of industry equipment in carrying out various fabrication duties. The role will see candidates working day shifts, on a Monday Thursday day shift basis, there is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium
Working with various materials (titanium, aluminium, stainless steel) in the manufacture of aircraft parts, across a variety of Airbus family of aircraft
Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures
To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
Responsible for general housekeeping within the area
Compliant with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities
What You'll Bring To help us make a difference, youll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
A recognised and relevant apprenticeship and relevant NVQ level 3 (Or equivalent)
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines, Power Presses, CNC Drilling & routering)
Starting salary of £35,304 rising to £36,750 once fully certified (after around 3 months) + shift allowance where applicable (up to 33%) + Up to 4% Bonus
