Affinity Water has an exciting opportunity available to become a Water Regulations Technician in our Water Quality Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Role:
As a Water Regulations Technician, you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of water quality standards through collaboration with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations were introduced in 1999 to prevent misuse, waste, undue consumption, or erroneous measurement of water. Most importantly, they are designed to prevent contamination of drinking water supplies.
What you'll be doing:
1. Visit consumer premises, carrying out fittings inspections to ensure installed plumbing systems are compliant.
2. Proactive engagement within the plumbing community to promote the fittings regulations and good practice.
3. Identify risks to water quality and address issues related to waste, undue consumption, or misuse of water.
This role will require travel to sites across primarily the Misbourne, Lee, and Colne supply areas. You may also be asked to travel to other areas within our supply network as needed.
What you'll need:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the current Water Fittings & Water Quality Regulations.
2. A NVQ Level 2 or higher in Plumbing.
3. Experience working in the Water Industry.
4. Excellent technical skills with the ability to diagnose and find faults quickly.
5. Knowledge of Legionella bacteria control in Hot & Cold Water Services.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
7. UK Driving Licence.
