Job Description:
TEXO Recruitment is excited to be recruiting a Crane Engineer on behalf of our external client based in Newcastle upon Tyne on a permanent basis.
As a crane engineer with electrical experience, you will be part of a team responsible for crane maintenance and installation. Being a multi-skilled team, you will also support projects involving various lifting techniques and the inspection of general lifting equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out servicing, inspection, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment at customer premises or on-site.
* Diagnose specific faults and take appropriate action.
* Read, understand, and file all service information.
* Maintain and update service manuals.
* Perform work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
* Escalate issues related to broken or damaged equipment.
* Ensure quality standards, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction after work.
* Submit and revise documentation based on client and team feedback.
* Serve as the main technical contact for projects.
* Identify and communicate business opportunities during projects.
* Coordinate with design engineers for bespoke projects.
* Maintain high health and safety standards.
* Support lifting projects and seek to expand your skills.
* Maintain a professional image and keep equipment and vehicle in excellent condition.
* Support team activities and learn new skills, including machinery and vessel projects.
* Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* NVQ level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in a related industry.
* Experience in repairing, maintaining, and inspecting cranes.
* Knowledge of testing and inspection techniques.
* Ability to plan complex lifting operations.
* Experience with supporting documentation and color coding techniques.
* Experience in heavy lift operations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Valid driving license.
* Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
* Good communication skills at all levels.
* Flexibility to work outside normal hours.
* Team player attitude.
* Progression through LEEA modules preferred.
* Willingness to undertake additional training as needed.
